Welcome Party
Save the evening for us. We're still arguing happily about what to do with it. Details to follow.

Sicilia · MMXXVII
We’re getting married in Sicily, and we’d rather not do it without you. Three days of sun, salt, citrus and a proper dance party under the mirror ball. A welcome party, the wedding, then a farewell pizza pool party.
Jaime & Nolan
La Nostra Storia

Nolan asked, Jaime said yes somewhere between a pint and the Atlantic wind on the west coast of Ireland. Ireland has always been Nolan’s happy place: the pubs, the cliffs, the craic. Italy has always been Jaime’s: the food, the light, the way aperitivo turns into dinner turns into disco. So after getting engaged among the green cliffs of Moher, we decided to split the difference and jet-set south to Sicily for the biggest party of our lives.
“I’d have been happy on the cliffs with a pint in my hand. But you should see her face when someone says the word aperitivo.”
“I’ve been planning the playlist since roughly 2019. He thinks he’s getting a say. He is not.”
Pack your sunglasses and your dancing shoes.
Il Tema
Think checkered tiles, coral umbrellas, cold spritz and warm records. We’ve been hoarding Italo 45s and vermouth recipes for this exact weekend, so please bring an appetite and shoes you can genuinely dance in.
L’Album
A few of our favourite photos, plus the places we can’t wait to show you. Baroque Noto is ten minutes away: golden staircases, flower-hung side streets, almond granita for breakfast and turquoise coves down at Avola. Come early, stay late. We plan to.

Cose da Fare
Our own shortlist. Everything here is within about an hour of the resort. Come a few days early or stay on after the pizza pool party. If you only do three things, do the ones we’ve marked.
Noto's baroque walk
10 minStart at Porta Reale, follow the main avenue to the cathedral steps, then detour onto Via Nicolaci for its carved balconies. Golden hour turns the whole town honey-coloured.
Caffè Sicilia & Corrado Assenza
10 minOne of Italy's most famous pastry shops. Almond granita with brioche for breakfast, cannoli filled to order, candied-fruit everything.
Jaime would move in. Get the almond granita.
Vendicari Nature Reserve
20 minSalt pans, flamingos in the lagoons, an old tuna factory on the sand, and the path down to Calamosche, a cove beach you have to walk to earn.
Marzamemi
30 minA tiny fishing village of ochre houses around a piazza on the water. Tuna, seafood pasta, and an aperitivo where the boats tie up.
Where we'll be hiding the day before the wedding.
Avola & Lido di Avola
10 minThe nearest swim: sandy beach, easy lidos, granita stands. Avola is also home of the Nero d'Avola grape and the famous Avola almond.
Ortigia, Siracusa
45 minThe island heart of Syracuse: a Greek temple built into the cathedral, the morning market on Via Emanuele De Benedictis, and swimming off the rocks at Forte Vigliena.
Nero d'Avola wine tasting
30 minFamily estates in the hills behind Noto and Pachino pour Nero d'Avola and Moscato di Noto, usually with a long table of local cheese and olives.
Nolan says this counts as a pub. We're allowing it.
Modica & Ragusa Ibla
1 hrTwo more baroque UNESCO towns. Modica for cold-worked Aztec-style chocolate, Ragusa Ibla for the staircase views and a slow lunch.
Cavagrande del Cassibile
35 minA canyon of freshwater pools and little waterfalls above Avola. A steep hike down, then the best cold swim of the trip.
Il Luogo
Olive groves, stone courtyards and a red-and-white checkered pool tucked into the Val di Noto. We fell for it because the whole place was dreamed up by a local Sicilian islander who wanted guests to feel like they were staying at a friend’s estate rather than a hotel. Warm, unpretentious and unmistakably Sicilian. That’s exactly the weekend we want to give you.

Il Programma

Venerdì · 3 September 2027
Save the evening for us. We're still arguing happily about what to do with it. Details to follow.

Sabato · 4 September 2027
Vintage Euro disco, all night. Jaime built the playlist; Nolan is in charge of the espresso at 2am.

Domenica · 5 September 2027
Swimsuits, sunglasses, no shoes required. Come hungover, we will be. At the Braccialieri pool.
Come Arrivare
Braccialieri Resort
Contrada Braccialieri, 96012 Avola SR, Sicily, Italy
Open directions in Google MapsFly into Catania Fontanarossa (CTA). The resort is about a 75 minute drive south, mostly along the A18 motorway toward Siracusa. Car hire is the easiest way to get here and to explore the coast over the weekend.
Il Luogo
The moment we saw the checkered pool under the olive trees we stopped looking. A luxury resort and eco-glamping hideaway in the Val di Noto, just outside Avola and minutes from Noto and the beaches of south-eastern Sicily.
Il Codice
Cream linen, silk, wide lapels, a little shimmer. Gold over silver. Checks and coral very welcome. Women, please wear long dresses. Think flowing, elegant, and ready for the dance floor. Heels you can genuinely dance in. We mean it, the dancing goes late.
Il Viaggio
We're flying out of Boston Logan too, so: Logan to Catania (CTA) with one stop, usually Rome, Milan, Zurich, Frankfurt or Paris. From Catania it's a one-hour drive south to the resort near Avola, just outside Noto. We'll sort shuttle details once RSVPs are in.
I Bambini
As much as we love kids, they are not welcome at this wedding. Consider this your official permission slip to leave them at home and dance until 2am without checking a babysitter app.
Il Disco
We are not doing a sit down, speeches-until-midnight, chicken-or-fish kind of night. We are doing the kind of wedding where the dance floor opens before dessert and stays open until someone brings out espresso. Here is the vibe.
Expect a real dance floor, a mirror ball, and Italo disco, French house and late 70s European pop spinning until the espresso comes out. We want this to feel like the best wedding afterparty you have ever been to, except it is the actual party.
Sicilian weddings run late and flow together. There is no rush from ceremony to cake to dancing. The spritz hour will slowly become dinner, which will slowly become the dance floor. Pace yourself.
September evenings in Sicily are warm. Wear breathable linen or silk and shoes you can actually dance in. The floor is stone and tile, so stilettos are a risky choice. Block heels, sandals or loafers are the move.
Jaime has been building this playlist for years, but she is willing to share the aux. Drop a request in the RSVP note if there is a song that will get you on the floor.
Per Gli Ospiti
We know this trip is a haul. A few things we have learned that might make it smoother.
Italy uses the Euro. Cards are widely accepted at restaurants, hotels and bigger shops, but small bars, beach lidos and parking meters often prefer cash. Bring a little cash and a card with no foreign transaction fees.
Car hire is the easiest way to explore from Catania to Noto, Marzamemi and the beaches. Most rental cars are manual. If you need automatic, book well in advance. The A18 motorway is straightforward and tolls are cheap.
Italy uses Type C, F and L plugs, running 230V. Bring a universal adapter and check whether your devices support dual voltage.
Most US carriers offer international roaming in Italy, but it adds up quickly. A local eSIM or a prepaid TIM/Vodafone SIM at Catania airport is usually cheaper and faster.
English is common in hotels and restaurants in this area, but a few Italian phrases go a long way, especially in smaller towns. We will include a tiny cheat sheet in the final details email.
Tap water is safe to drink in Sicily, though many locals prefer bottled still or sparkling water at meals. We will have plenty of both at every event.
Domande Frequenti
Everything we could think of that you might be wondering about. If we missed something, email us at rsvp@jaimeandnolan2027.com and we will add it.
Accessibilità
We want every guest to feel comfortable and able to enjoy the whole weekend. If you have a need we have not covered here, please reach out directly and we will make a plan.
Braccialieri is a working estate with gravel paths, stone courtyards, grass and some uneven ground between the ceremony, dinner and dance areas. Comfortable, flat shoes will make the whole weekend easier.
The ceremony will take place among the olive trees on mostly flat ground. We will have chairs and can reserve accessible seating near the aisle. Let us know in your RSVP if you need anything specific.
Early September in Sicily is warm and sunny, often in the high 20s Celsius, around 80 Fahrenheit. All events have shaded areas, but we recommend sunscreen, hats and light layers. Water will always be available.
The RSVP form asks about allergies and dietary restrictions. If you have a mobility, hearing, vision or other access need we should plan for, email us directly at rsvp@jaimeandnolan2027.com and we will sort it out.

RSVP
Please reply by 1 June 2027 so we can count the plates, the pizzas and the records. Tell us your name, who you’re bringing, whether you can make it and anything you can’t eat. And if you have a song that has to be played, put it in the note. We’re taking requests.
Can’t wait to dance with you. Jaime & Nolan
